Doctors from the Cleveland Clinic visited the UFM

Doctors Tamara Lior, Thomas Mroz, Douglas Orr and Gary Saff; as well as Mrs. Laura Robinson, from the Cleveland Clinic of Ohio, visited Universidad Francisco Marroquín last May 7th of 2007.

Accompanied by Rosa Virginia Flores, manager of Foundación Chusita Llerandi de Herrera, the doctors visited the UFM Campus as part of their activities during IX Scientific Session that that Foundation and the UFM School of Medicine organized last May 7th through 9 of 2007.

During their tour to this house of studies, the doctors visited the Academic Building and its Socratic Wing, the New Media Digital Resources Center, the Ludwig von Mises Library and the  Popol Vuh Museum.

During the session, doctors, neurologists, neurosurgeons, students and residents of Guatemala and Central America inquired on the last advances in treatments for epilepsy, chronic pain, seizures and spine problems. 

The Cleveland Clinic is considered, by the prestigious magazine U.S. News and World Report, as one of the best hospitals in the United States, comparable to the Mayo Clinic, the General Hospital of Massachusetts, the Brigham and Women´s Hospital, and the Medical Center of Duke University, among others.
