In order to share and remember with those that have passed by the classrooms and comprise the family of the Economic Sciences School of Universidad Francisco Marroquín, last Tuesday November 27th 2006 the Generation Fest was celebrated.

Active students, professors, administrative personnel of the FCE, and UFM authorities participated at the event headed by UFM’s President Giancarlo Ibárgüen S., and the School Dean, Fritz Thomas.

During the celebration, accompanied with wine, snacks and music, the Prize Frédéric Bastiat was granted to the student who presented the best essay on the Law: Andrés Lopez Pinto.  The prize consists of a paid study trip, for one week, to UFM friendly institutions within the framework of its training programs.

The Prize Carlos Jordán, granted to the student with the best attitude, who lives the School’s values and has a positive influence on others, was given to Alexander Ayala; the nominees were Jershem Casasola, Blanca Escobar and Rodrigo Tejada.  This award is given independently of academic results.

The Prize Jose Cecilio del Valle, given to the student that has the highest accumulated average among those who closed pensum in November of 2005 and May of 2006, was granted to Edwin Xol Yalibat, member of the Impulse to the Academic Talent program.

During the act that took place in the celebration, recognitions were given to the active students of the Faculty; professors Manuel F. Ayau, Joseph Keckeissen and Armando de la Torre, received recognitions as FCE’s Favorite Friends.

Two musical groups integrated by FCE students brightened up the celebration: The Melua group, integrated by Juan Pablo Castellanos and Daniel Méndez, and the guest René Vargas; and the Boxxi group, whose voice is María José Enríquez, FCE student.

The evening was sponsored by Procter & Gamble, L´Oreal, Tigo, Unilever, Pepsi and Brahva.
