First Aid course at the von Mises Library

Heimlich maneuver, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and other first aid techniques were learned by the staff of the Ludwig von Mises Library of Universidad Francisco Marroquín, during a course that Javier Santiago gave them.

Santiago, who is a Reference Librarian at the Library’s Information Center and a fireman, gave the course during four sessions, one hour each, last June 4th and 12.

«During the course we learned that in an emergency the security of the person who gives first aid is important and that you should not put yourself at risk.  We also learned the Heimlich maneuver and CPR for babies, children and adults; as well as how to react in case of accidents», informed Adelaida Loukota, head of Public Relations in the Library.
