Joseph Keckeissen received APEE award

Joseph Keckeissen, Economics teacher at Universidad Francisco Marroquín and disciple of Ludwig von Mises, received the Kent-Aronoff Service Award from the Association for Private Enterprise Education at the APEEs annual conference celebrated in Cancún, Mexico from April 8 to 10th 2007.

Such award is handed to an APEE member that has contributed with his time and talent to the growth of the organization and the benefit of the free enterprise system.

Joseph Keckeissen was a disciple of Ludwig von Mises in New York.  He is a professor at the MBA program at the UFM’s School of Business.  He has a Ph.D. from New York University, an MBA from Columbia University and a B.A. in Philosophy from Don Bosco College.  He is also a teacher at the UFM’s Henry Hazlitt Center.

With Keckeissen other UFM professors assisted to the conference and gave lectures during the encounter, such is the case of Roberto Blum, Lisardo Bolaños, Julio Cole, Christopher Lingle and Ramón Parellada.  Other assistants to the APEE’s annual conference were Ricardo Castillo A., Jaime Díaz and Fritz Thomas.  During the conference, UFM’s President, Giancarlo Ibárgüen S. was elected president of the Association.

The APEE believes that individual knowledge and understanding of a society based on freedom in enterprise and personal life can provide an environment in which people can fulfill their greatest potential. The association serves as a network that provides its members information, interaction and support to their efforts to put in action a precise and objective understanding of the systems of free enterprise. The Association publishes the Journal of Private Enterprise.

On 2009 the APEE’s annual conference will be celebrated at Universidad Francisco Marroquín, in Guatemala.
