Law and Dentistry students won contest

The winners, joined by CEES directors and their teachers

Otto Barrios, student from the Law School at Universidad Francisco Marroquín, was the winner of the first prize of the contest of Economic Process organized by the Henry Hazlitt Center and the Center for Social Economic Studies (CEES), and therefore will travel to the Foundation for Economic Education during this summer.

The second and third places were for Lucía Nájera and Sabrina Pérez, from the Dentistry School.  They received CEES books, to their choice.

Gunther Meléndez is the professor of Barrios, meanwhile Fernando Aragón teaches Nájera and Pérez.  Both teach Economic Process at the UFM’s Henry Hazlitt Center.

During the CEES meeting, celebrated last March 12 2007, the winners and their teachers were congratulated by directors and friends of the Center.

This contest is made with students from the course of Economic Process that is fundamental for the students of all the schools, institutes and departments of Universidad Francisco Marroquín.  It is made in coordination wit the Henry Hazlitt Center of the University on a monthly basis, based on the brochure Tópicos de Actualidad (Current topics) that corresponds to the month and theme of the class.  The winner of every monthly round receives an award and the student that wins the most rounds at the end of the year wins the contest.
