A group of new members of the Ludwig von Mises Library, in the Francisco Marroquín University, participated in a guided visit through the campus of this house of studies on January 11, 2006.

After visiting the Academic Building and the Socratic Wing, the group went to the Presidents office, where the President, Giancarlo Ibárgüen S., talked about the UFM´s mission, the education and diffusion of the ethical, legal and economic principles of a society of free and responsible persons; and its commitment with the academic excellence; defined this like «the quality of ideas, principles and performances of those who, like professors and students, are habitually located over the simple material and routine fulfillment, constituting a live example of coherent life, to others». Excellence, understood like this «is only possible in a frame of freedom, competition and respect».  He also shared some anecdotes on the University´s foundation as well as photographies and the
Arboretum project.

Tania Ardón, Dulce Franco, Maria Eugenia González, Alma González and Maynor Rodas participated.

This activity is part of an induction process in the Francisco Marroquín University, for those who join the UFM team. Tours for the UFM personnel are organized by the President´s office and lead by the Public Relations Department.

During this tour the participants visited the New Media Digital Resources Center, the Advanced Technologies Center and the Popol Vuh Museum, concluding at the Liberty Plaza.
