Max Holzheu, at the UFM´s Agora

After seven years of being the Vicepresident of the Fancisco Marroquín University, architect Max Holzheu will retire on May 2006, even though he will continue being a member of the Fiduciary Committee of this house of studies.

Holzheu has been with UFM as fiduciary since 1977.  Between 1979 and 1987 he was the President of the Fiduciary Committee and, between 1991 and 1999 was Vocal of the Board of Directors.  He is also member of the Board of Directors of the Popol Vuh Museum.

Max Holzheu has dedicated 29 years of his life to the UFM where he left a great legacy.  Not only he directed the campus construction, but he taught us the importance of having a good eye to do everything right, even in the smallest details.  His commitment with the University and to the freedom cause has had a cheerful character, consistent and full of joy.  We will truly miss our friend Max at the Board of Directors, said Giancarlo Ibargüen S., UFM´s President.

Architect Holzheu got his architect degree at the Eidgenössische Technische hochschule of Zürich, Switzerland on August 5th 1955.  Then he returned to Guatemala and enrolled at the San Carlos de Guatemala University.
