Medicine students were welcomed by UFM’s President

UFM’s President, Giancarlo Ibárgüen, while addressing the new UFM medicine students.

Accompanied by the Dean, Federico Alfaro; by doctor Jorge Tulio Rodríguez and the pedagogic advisor María Teresa Pivaral, freshmen students from the Medicine School of Universidad Francisco Marroquín, were welecomed by the UFM President, Giancarlo Ibárgüen S.

During the lecture,
President Ibárgüen referred to the commitment this house of studies has with
academic excellence and its
mission that is to teach and diffuse the ethical, juridical and economical principles of a society of free and responsible persons.  Likewise, he showed the students a video where our founding President, Manuel F. Ayau, tells the reasons why the University was founded.

Ibárgüen also showed them the work done at New Media Digital Resources Center, the Arboretum and the website of the Ludwig von Mises Library.

After the lecture the students were divided in three groups accompanied by Rodríguez, Pivaral and the Director of Public Relations, Luis Figueroa; they visited the Academic Building and its Socratic Wing, the Ludwig von Mises Library and its special collection room, the Popol Vuh Museum and the Liberty Plaza.

The lecture and tour were held las January 15th 2007.
