The Popol Vuh Museum, from the Franciscso Marroquín University, occupied the front page of the magazine Revue, in its May edition of 2006.

To celebrate the International Museum day, celebrated on May 18th, the magazine published a compilation of the best 30 Museums in Guatemala to facilitate the readers visitis.

The Popol Vuh Museum has one of the most important collections of the mayan art in the world.  There are outstanding examples of painted ceramics from the classic period from Petén, Verapaz and other regions, an extraordinary collection of funerary urns from Guatemala’s north western region, important examples of pre-classic and classic sculptures from Kaminaljuyú and the southern coast; a collection of vases from the bottom of the lake Amatitlán, and an excellent collection of ceramic whistles.

The Museums included in the article are Casa Mima, Museo de la Arquidiócesis de Santiago de Guatemala, Museo Fray Francisco Vásquez, Museo del Palacio Nacional de la Cultura, Museo Paiz de arte Contemporáneo, Museo Nacional de Historia, Museo de la Semana Santa, Museo de la Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala, Mapa en Relieve and Museo Popol Vuh.

Also the Botanic Garden and the Ixchel Museum of Indigenous Apparel, located at the UFM campus.
