With the objective of discussing the new goals for the alliance between Universidad Francisco Marroquín and Texas A&M University, professors John Giardino and Atef Sharkawy visited this house of studies last February 16th of 2007.

Giardino is Research vice-president and Sharkawy coordinates the post degree programs of Land development.  Sharkawy, in addition, is professor at the Masters in Administration of Real estate Projects of the Architecture School and the School of Businesses, of this house of studies.

The present alliance between both universities includes specific programs with that masters degree. The MAPI includes, in their pensum, four intensive courses imparted by university professors of Texas A&M: Principles of Real estate Development, Analysis of Real estate Markets, Residential Development and Commercial Development.

The meetings were attenden by Sergio Enriquez and Helmuth Chávez, vice-deans of the School of Businesses, Roberto Quevedo, dean of the Architecture School and Juan Carlos Cachanosky, dean of the School of Business; professors Victor Cohen and Mónica de Zelaya in addition to Giardino and Sharkawy.

When concluding the meetings both professors visited the New Media Digital Resources Center and the Ludwig von Mises Library.
