Ronald Flores, director of the Michael Polanyi College.

Flores is grateful for the opportunity to lead this unique university program. The Michael Polanyi College, which offers a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies Degree, is currently the only undergraduate program in English offered in Guatemala. It is also the only program that allows students to design most of their learning experience. Flores plans to work on consolidating the academic work requirements for MPC Fellows and bring an experienced mentorship to this unique educational process.

Ronald Flores replaces Daniel Green, who had served as Director since July 2019. Green has returned to the United States for health reasons, but is likely to return as professor.

Flores studied an undergraduate degree in Education at the Universidad del Valle and a Masters of Arts degree in Comparative Literature at the University of Texas in Austin. He is the author of several books, including the award -winning novel Last Silence. Flores has served as Director of the Education Department at Francisco Marroquin University since 2020.
