SIFE-UFM at a Business Evaluation lecture

The SIFE-UFM team members participated in the conference titled Emerging Markets Business Evaluation, lectured by Florencia Roca, last March 9th 2006.

The disertant is profesor at the Business School of the Franciso Marroquín University, and in ESEADE, in Argentina.  She has a master in Finance by the CEMA University, in Argentina.

«This conference, organized by SIFE-UFM and sponsored by the Business School, is part of a series of sessions for the students that participate in the SIFE-UFM Stock-exchange competition, en which, besides earning cash prizes, they have sessions with stock related themes.  During the contest, that lasts a month, there are at least three programmed sessions», Diego Joachín, team member, informed.

The contest is developed at
http://game.marketwatch.com, and the participant that has the highest returns will win Q300, meanwhile the second and third prizes will be Q100 and Q75, respectively.

«The dissertation of Florencia Roca focused on the different methods of valuating busineses, like capital asset management, economic value added, and others.  Freshman to senior students participated.» he added.

«With this activity, SIFE-UFM looks toward the participants capital accumulation, from an academic and financial points of view», Joachin added.

Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) is a non-profit organization, active in more than 40 countries.  It was founded and financed by corporations, businessman, foundations and individuals, establishing student teams around different universities, who compete at worldwide based on SIFE´s pillars: financial skills, entreprenourship, business ethics and free market economics.
