Third forum with candidates, organized by EPRI

Alejandro Giammattei, Eduardo Castillo, Estuardo Zapeta and Nineth de Montenegro at the F.A. Hayek Auditorium 

The third forum of the series Towards Elections 2007, organized by the Institute of Political Studies and International Relations, of Universidad Francisco Marroquín, was celebrated last May 18th of 2007 at the Friedrich A. Hayek Auditorium, of this house of studies.

The participants were the presidential candidate Alexander Giammattei, from Gran Alianza Nacionalista; and the vicepresidential candidate Nineth de Montenegro, from Encuentro por Guatemala. Eduardo Castillo, parliamentary candidate by Gana, also participated.   Alvaro Colom, from Unidad Nacional de la Esperanza and Rigoberta Menchú, from Encuentro por Guatemala were also invited, but they could not participate.

The forum was lead by the journalist and anthropologist Estuardo Zapeta, director of the radio show  Contravía, and columnist in the newspaper Siglo Veintiuno. The presentation of the forum was made by EPRI’s director, Pedro Trujillo.

During the event the candidates and their companions had the opportunity to present their proposals and then they were submitted to questions from the conductor of the forum and the students, professors and public who attended the encounter.

The next forum will be next Wednesday May 23rd at 4:00 p.m. in the Friedrich A. Hayek Auditorium.  The participants will be Eduardo Suger, Marco Vinicio Cerezo and Harold Caballeros.
