UFM students at Congress

UFM students joined by Estuardo Rodríguez

A group of students of the Institute of Political Studies and International Relations from the Francisco Marroquín University, participated in the II Regional Port Congress celebrated in Guatemala from July 26th to 28th 2006.

In it themes were on global commerce tendencies, new markets and the impact of containers sea commerce, Chinas impact and the widening of the Panama Canal, Central American ports and the law project on overseas docking.  With the participation of representatives from Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panamá, Peru, Dominican Republic, Spain and the United States of America.

At the Congress there was a meeting of UFM professionals and students.  The participants were Emmanuel Seidner, Carmen Urizar, Estuardo Rodríguez Azpuru, María José Paiz; and the EPRI students Sofía Meillón, Alejandra Noriega, María José Nichols, María Olga Santisteban and Guisela López.

María Isabel Fernández, director of the National Port Commission, mentioned the good academic level of the students and their interest in the exposed themes.
