UFM’s personnel on tour through the campus

As an induction and getting together activity in the Francisco Marroquín University, for those that join the working team of this house of studies, and for those that welcome them, a group of staff members of this house of studies participated in a tour through the UFM campus.

During the tour, celebrated last Friday May 2nd 2006, the participants were welcomed by Ramón Parellada, UFM’s treasurer, who told them about the UFM’s mission, that is to teach and diffuse the ethical, legal and economic principles of a society of free and responsible persons; and the commitment with the academic excellence, understood as the quality of ideas, principles and acts of those who, as professors or students, are usually above the plain material fulfillment of their duty, constituting before all a living example of coherent life.  Excellence understood this way is only possible in a frame of freedom, competition and respect.  He also told them the origins of this house of studies.

The participants visited the Popol Vuh Museum and the Liberty Plaza; the Academic Building with its Socratic Wing; the New Media Digital Resources Center; the Advanced Technologies Center and the Ludwig von Mises Library.

The participants were Julio Arenas, from the Library; Betty Juárez, from the Arts Organization; Claudia Ocaña, from the Economic Sciences School; María Isabel Aldana, from New Media; Olga Hazard and Maité Aguilar, from Tipos Graficart; Rosa María de Morales, from Library Friends; Yadira Arriola, from the Architecture School; Lorena Campos, from Development; Ana Regina Giordano and Santiago Fernández from Political Studies and International Relations; Andrea Orellana from the Advanced Technological Center; Jorge Morales, from Security; Liza Cifuentes, from Development; and Pamela Toledo, from Public Relations.

The tour is organized by the Presidents office and conducted by the Public Relations Department.
