In order to train profesional news reporters from different media on economic and social problems and their solutions, through the application of economic theory to specific themes, the Workshop on Economic Updates for News Reporters was organized by Centro de Investigaciones Económicas Nacionales at Universidad Francisco Marroquín.

It was celebrated from August 6th to the 10th of 2007, in two hour daily sessions .  UFM’s President, Giancarlo Ibárgüen S., attended the closing session.
