EPRI analyzed the national docking system

The Student Association of the Institute of Political Studies and International Relations of the Francisco Marroquín University, in collaboration with the National Docking Commission organized the seminar titled The national docking system and its incidence in international commerce.

At the mentioned seminar, specialized personnel of the CPN and more than 20 students from different grades of the International Commerce career participated.

During the same one the students were informed on the internal and external legal frame of the docking activities; and the procedures and functioning inside the docks were explained thoroughly, at the same time that the challenges of the national docking system were presented.

Gustavo Rodríguez, UFM’s professor and member of the CPN made emphasis of the importance of showing the students of International Commerce the functioning and importance of the docking administration, specially when 80% of Guatemalas export and import goods are moved through the docks.

María Isabel Fernández, CPN President, was pleased by the students answer and the interest shown in knowing more about the docks and its impact in commerce.

The seminar, promoted by the AEPRI, lasted two Saturdays and closed with a visit to the Portuaria Quetzal, in Escuintla, where the students were able to see the facilities and to witness the daily routines of the docking activities.
