FCE students at the Milton Friedman Auditorium during the presentation of the Minor in Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurs invent, mold, recognize and carry out actions based on the opportunities they see.  They are the geniuses and the energy behind that extraordinary phenomenon of value and wealth creation that is the enterprise process.

“Entrepreneurship is a motor of development in any society.  And attending the constant interest of students in entrepreneurial subjects; and according to the evidence we have gathered among alumni, the School of Economic Sciences of Universidad Francisco Marroquín now offers the new Minor in Entrepreneurship“, according to the announcement made by dean, Fritz Thomas, last July 3rd of 2007 at the Milton Friedman Auditorium of this house of studies.

Alumni with this minor will be prepared to initiate and develop business opportunities or entrepreneurial projects and to turn them into successful businesses.

The minor consists of a concentration of 6 courses on those subjects.  The courses are taken during 6th, 7th and 8th semesters of the
Business Administration career.

The courses and their contents have been designed based on the best Entrepreneurship programs in the world.  They consist of a combination of different methodologies, used by the most outstanding and successful processes in entrepreneurial education.

During these semesters, the students of the minor will have an approach with the entrepreneurial sector, which will be perceived in the design of the pensum, courses and contents, as in other forms of direct contact.

During the launching activity of the new minor in Entrepreneurship, the invited participants were Rodolfo Lorenzana and Cecilia Godoy de Delgado alumni of the UFM’s School of Economic Sciences who at the moment are successful entrepreneurs in different branches.  They shared with the students their stories and experiences, and stimulated them to become agents of change generating wealth by means of entrepreneurship.
