The visitors at the UFM’s garden

Foreign doctors and specialists, invited as lectures for the Fist Pediatric Nephrology National Congress, visited the Francisco Marroquín University by initiative of Jorge Tulio Rodríguez, director of the UFM’s Nutrition School.

The visitors were Marianne Vennegoor, adult renal nutritionist from the United Kingdom and member of the International Federation of Renal Foundations; Cindy Terrill, pediatric renal nutritionist; Jill Macfarlane, Child Life specialist and Pamela Grant, social worker, from the Utah University Hospital  and Clinics/Intermountain Pediatric-Adolescent Dialysis Program.

The host was Doctor Jorge Tulio Rodríguez, director of the Nutrition School of the Francisco Marroquín University, joined by Rocío de Sierra, academic coordinator.

Also congress organizers participate at the UFMs visit, like Randal Lou Meda, pediatric nephrologists; Viviana de Rodas, FUNDANIER Board Director; Germán Rodríguez, FUNDANIER Board Director; Claudia Lou Meda, clinical psychologist and Victoria Rodríguez, clinical nutritionist.

The Renal Disease Child Foundation is a non-profit foundation dedicated to treat on time and integrally children with low incomes suffering renal diseases, research and education on pediatric nephrology.

The visit to the UFM’s campus was on March 16th, 2006, and included a tour by the academic building, the New Media Digital Resources Center, the Ludwig von Mises Library and the Popol Vuh Museum.
