Pedro Trujillo, director of the Institute of Political Studies and International Relations, of Universidad Francisco Marroquín, was the moderator during the Forum Perspectives on Security and Justice that was celebrated in this house of studies last Tuesday February 20 of 2007.
The forum was celebrated at Milton Friedman Auditorium and was transmitted by Internet (webcasted) by the UFM´s New Media Digital Resources Center, so that it could be seen anywhere in the world.
The participating panelists were Claudia Paz and Paz, from Instituto de Estudios Comparados en Ciencias Penales; Carmen Rosa De Leon, security analyst and Iduvina Hernandez, member of the organization Seguridad y Democracia.
Perspectives is organized by the universities Francisco Marroquín, Mariano Gálvez, Rafael Landívar and San Carlos de Guatemala, jointly with the news paper Prensa Libre. It is part of a series of forums that, throughout the year, analyze current subjects in Guatemala.
During the act, UFM´s President, Giancarlo Ibárgüen S., talked about the importance of security to attract capital investments and favor the creation of wealth; and the publisher of Security and Justice, from Prensa Libre, Fernando Diéguez, explained the nature of the series of forums.
