USA Ambassador at the UFM

James M. Derham and the UFM´s president, Giancarlo Ibárgüen S.

James M. Derham, ambassador of the United States of America in Guatemala, visited the Francisco Marroquín University last Tuesday, February 14th of 2006.

During his visit, the diplomatic representative met with UFM´s president, Giancarlo Ibárgüen S., and talked about the University´s mission that is, the education and diffusion of ethical, juridical and economic principles of a society of free and responsible persons.

Ibárgüen also showed him the work of the New Media Center of Digital Resources during a virtual visit and listened to extracts of conferences like the one of the Nobel prizes
Milton Friedman  and
Vernon Smith, as well as the one ex-congressman
Dick Armey, offered during his visit to this house of studies.

The President and the Ambassador explored the possibilities of academic cooperation.
