Successful performance of the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet at the UFM

Bodies suspended on air, extreme points as part of incredible choreographies of the greatest ballets and modern dances, with music from Bach to Frank Sinatra, characterized the presentation of the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet that inaugurated the Festival International Bravísimo 2007 of Organización para las Artes Francisco Marroquín.

The American company performed at Universidad Francisco Marroquín last March 9 and 10th of 2007.

When describing the show, the journalist Lucía Herrera, from Prensa Libre wrote: Magnificent, is how you describe in one word the performance of the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet.  In the four choreographies presented you could admire the beauty, gentleness and exactitude of their movements.  In a particular time you perceived that the dancers were not people but dolls without any movement limitations.

The Aspen Santa Fe Ballet is known in the American circles as a dance company with a solid foundation in classic ballet, composed by highly versatile dancers with singular energy, who dance a sophisticated repertoire by the most important choreographs of the world, such as Balanchine, Twyla Tharp, Gerald Arpino and the amazing Moses Pendleton with his masterpiece, Noir Blanc.

Founded in 1995 by the legendary dancer Bebe Schweppe, who at age 11 was invited to dance at the Joffrey Ballet, the company presents a program that gives credit to the reputation it has: the miracle company.

The selected program included the following choreographies: Pointeoff, by Jorma Elo and music by Bach-Busoni; Sinatra Suite, by Twyla Tharp, music by Franck Sinatra; Light Rain, by Gerald Arpino, music by Douglas Adams; and Noir Blanc, by Moses Pendelton, with a musical collage.
