The first forum with presidential candidates, of a series organized by the Institute of Political Studies and International Relations of Universidad Francisco Marroquín, was celebrated last April 19th of 2007 at the Friedrich A. Hayek Auditorium of this house of studies.

The participants were Francisco Arredondo, from Partido de Avanzada Nacional; and Otto Pérez Molina, from Partido Patriota. They were accompanied by Rubén Darío Morales and Roxana Baldetti respectively. 

The forum was conducted by the journalist and lawyer José Eduardo Valdizán, director of the television news show Zona O. The presentation of the forum was made by EPRI’s director, Pedro Trujillo.

During the event the candidates and their companions had the opportunity to present their proposals and, afterwards they were putted under the scrutiny of the forums conductor, students, professors and the audience that attended the encounter.

The next forum will be held on Thursday May 3rd of 2007, with the participation of the candidates from the parties Frente Republicano Guatemalteco and Partido Unionista.
