Francisco Ou, Ambassador of Taiwan and the doctors Yeh Sze-ya, Federico Alfaro, dean of the UFM School of Medicine, and Ou Hon-zen.

Yeh Sze-ya and Ou Hon-zen, medical doctors from Taiwan that live and work in the United States of America, lectured conferences on obstetrics and laparoscopy, respectively, at the School of Medicine of Universidad Francisco Marroquín, last February 9th of 2007.

Yeh is honorary professor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Thomas Jefferson University; he is Chairman Emeritus of the Albert Einstein Medical Center; is vice-president of the North American Medical Taiwanese Association; he received his medical degree at the Medical College of the National Taiwan University; and he specializes in obstetrics gynecology.  His conference was titled Is my unborn baby healthy?

Ou is is associated professor at the Western University; he is Chairman of the Department of surgery in the Chinese Calley Medical Center; fellow of the American College of Surgeons;  he received training as a surgeon in the Christ Hospital of Chicago; and obtained his medical degree at the Medical College of Taiwan University.  His conference was titled The laparoscopic surgery yersterday, today and tomorrow.

Doctors Yeh and Ou are members of the North American Medical Taiwanese Association and part of a mission of 40 Taiwanese doctors who came to work for a couple of days to San José Pinula, San Juan Sacatepéquez and Palencia.

The conference was attended by the academic president of the UFM, Ottavio Benfatto; the dean of the School of Medicine, Federico Alfaro; the ambassador of Taiwan, Francisco Ou; professors and students of the School, members of the mission of Taiwanese doctors, members of the Embassy, and guests.
