Doctor Luis Campana during his conference on Surgical periodontal therapy

The School of Dentistry of Universidad Francisco Marroquín celebrates its Scientific Week from August 8th to the 10th of 2007.  

In this occasion the central subject is Periodontology, by Doctor Luis Campana.  Periodontics is the branch of dentistry that studies prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and conditions that affect the supporting structure of teeth and implants, the maintenance and health, aesthetic function of teeth and their adjacent tissue.

Doctor Campana is a specialized Orthodontist at Universidad de Sao Paulo; specialist in Periodontology, at the Oregon Health & Science University; member of the editors of the Journal of International Academy of Periodontology; and director of the Program of Specialization in Periodontics, at the School of Dentirstry in Universidad de Panama.  

Other subjects and lecturers, during the Scientific Week are: The Origin of the Cerec Method, Technical Estate and Clinical Implemenation, by Doctor Werner Mormann; and Humorism in the Quixote de la Mancha, by Gustavo Wyld.  There will also be a discussion on the Ideal Treatment for periodontitis: surgical versus nonsurgical.
