In order to increase their team spirit and to train in safety, a group of host students from Universidad Francisco Marroquín participated in a ropes workshop organized by the UFM’s Excellence Center, informed Carla de Hess, director of the Center.

During the entire morning, last March 10th of 2007, the hosts participated in activities and exercises in the ropes facilities.

This group of students participates as hosts at the university and is coordinated by Mayra Ramirez, assistant to the UFM’s President.  The hosts are freshman to senior students from all the schools, institutes and departments of the University.  They participate representing the UFM in public events and they make possible that guests feel welcome at this House of Liberty. Their participation has been outstanding in events like the Entrepreneurship Forum, the Symposium of the International Map Collector Society, during the celebration of Cervantes anniversary, in the commencement acts, and during the visits of personalities like the Nobel prize in Economy, Vernon L. Smith; and the ex-president of the Spanish government, Jose Maria Aznar; for example.

The Excellence Center is an educative project oriented to UFM students and external persons in order to contribute to their integral education, developing their teamwork and leadership abilities, explained Carla de Hess, director of the Center.

The facilities of the Excellence Center are located on a hill behind the Ludwig von Mises Library and comprise the UFM’s Arboretum. More than 3.000 people they have received workshops that include ropes dynamics in the University, including students, educational and administrative personnel of this house of studies; as well as students of other institutions and business employees.
