To welcome the new students who integrate the scholarship program Impulse to the Academic Talent (ITA), in the University Francisco Marroquín, a lunch was celebrated on Friday January 27, 2006.
In the activity all the active ITAs from the Economic Sciences and Law Schools, as well as those of the Institute of Political Studies and International Relations meet, and the graduated ones in Economic Sciences.
Ricardo Castillo, UFM´s General Secretary, presided the welcoming, and told them about the mission of this house of studies that will turn 35 years in August of this year.
Other intentions of the meeting were to know the Program´s history and the success of its graduated members and students, and getting to know the members and authorities of the university that participated on the lunch, like the deans and directors of the involved academic units.
The intention of the Program is to form successful professionals, localy and internationally, prepared to occupy important leadership positions and to carry out the mission of the Francisco Marroquín University.
This house of studies, by means of the ITA program, grants the selected students during all their career, a complete scholarship to cover the expenses of matriculation, tuituion fees and text books. In addition it grants an allowance for study equipment and transportation. The Program also covers the lodging expenses in university residences.
The students who enjoy the benefits of Program ITA are carefully selected in order to recruit students with extraordinary intellectual capacities and the determination to acquire an excellent professional formation in Business Administration, Economics or Law. Another indispensable condition to have access to the program is that those students lack sufficient economic resources to pay for their studies.
The students maintain superior scores than the average in their respective academic units and, in addition, they demonstrate high qualities of leadership.
