Renal patient received support from ACE

Since aproximately three years, Estuardo the Moral Hernandez, a boy who suffers a renal disease, received aid from the Economic Sciences Student Association (ACE), of the Francisco Marroquín University.

Last February 17 of 2006, Estuardo Hernández, accompanied by his parents Hedí Hernandez and Aura Morales, came from Malacatancito, Huehuetenango to receive the contribution that facilitates his monthly medical treatment.  ACE´s help has ascended up to Q. 8,000, to this day.

«Estuardo suffers from advanced chronic intersisticial nefropaty and ACE has helped him for over three years. The project began when Lionel Asencio was president of the Association and since then we have tried to give a donation at least twice a year so that his family can cover part of the expenses that the disease implies», said Gerardo Pallais, current ACE´s president.

«In the Association we feel a moral commitment to help people who need support.  We looked forward to develop in the members, that are UFM students, a solidarity spirit», Pallais explained.

«In this occasion we had the opportunity to meet Estuardo, who was brought by his father to the UFM campus and we could share some moments with him in the garden of the University», he added.
