A group of volunteers in workshop at Museo Popol Vuh

The group of volunteers in one of the UFM’s classes

To participate in a workshop on Mayan culture, at Museo Popol Vuh of Universidad Francisco Marroquín, a group of volunteers of Asociación Soluciones Interculturales, visited this house of studies last August 13th of 2007.

Groups from the Association visit the Museum every month to extend their knowledge on the Mayans; and, in this occasion, a tour to the UFM’s Academic Building was added to their workshop. In the workshop they focused on Mayan pottery.

The volunteers work in hospitals, asylums, orphanages and clinics during periods of two to four weeks each group, during the mornings; and in the afternoons they attend cultural activities.  They also travel to places like Chinautla, Tikal and Quiriguá.
