With the conference titled Eficacy and efficiency of cental american and caribean governments, a delegation of 25 students from the Institute of Political Studies and International Relations of Universidad Francisco Marroquin, participated in the Third Central American Congress of Political Sciences, organized by Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas (UCA) from July 18th to the 20th of 2007 in El Salvador.
«The students participated succesfully», said Pedro Trujillo, director of the Institute. «They were able to meet with professors and students from other places, share ideas and exchange experiences and perceptions, and they learned techniques and other ways of presenting and debating certain topics of interest», he added.
The congress agenda included themes such as theory of political science, structures and political actors, public policies, communication and political culture, the political impact of migrations and globalization, local power, citizenship and democracy, free trade agreements and commerce and the transnationalization of politics.
Using discussion tables, forums, panels, academic conferences and presentations, lecturers from several universities exposed their works and investigations. The program also included some cultural aspects.
