The XXV Annual Symposium of the International Map Collectors Society was celebrated at Universidad Francisco Marroquín from February 5th to the 7th of 2007. The event was reported in 109th edition of the IMCoS Journal, corresponding to this years summer; and in this journal the qualifying adjective that is repeated the most is wonderful.
«Now that I returned home, after the wonderful conference and the excursions, I can send you both my congratulations and my gratefulness for the effort putted in making this encounter so successful», says the letter that Rodney Shirley wrote to Jens and Erika Bornholt and that was published by the IMCoS Journal.
Jens and Erika Bornholt organized the Symposium. Jens Bornholt is fiduciary and director at the UFM; and Erika Bornholt is president the Library Friends committee of this house of studies.
«The facilities for the conference were wonderful, the hotels were first class, the food was remarkable, the companions and transportation were good, the map exhibitions were rightly cured and the excursions were charming, what else we can say?», said Jeanne and Tom Sander from Washington, in another letter published by the Journal.
«We want to mention the incredible way in which you (and all the people of the University) organized the symposium. The conferences, exhibitions, and the wonderful
that Jens wrote», said Rinus Ostermann and Helene van der Kley, from the Netherlands.
The IMCoS Journal report includes: Song, Dances, and Demographics and IMCoS Members At large in South America, by Barbara Keck; as well as Post Symposium Excursions, by Leif Akesson. Also a variety of photos.
